Robocop: Rogue City

PlayStation Plus games for April are weird, wild, and kind of brilliant

If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, April’s games are bringing the chaos in the best way possible. It’s a real mix of genres this month, and all three titles will be yours to download from April 1 until May 5.

First up: RoboCop: Rogue City (PS5). Remember how cool you thought RoboCop was as a kid? Turns out, he’s still got it. This first-person shooter has you cleaning up Old Detroit with brutal efficiency, laying down the law with your Auto-9 and looking grumpy while you do it. It’s part shooter, part detective game, and yes, Peter Weller is back to voice the big tin can himself. Bonus points for the surprisingly decent storyline that fills in the gaps between RoboCop 2 and 3.

Next, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (PS4/PS5). This one’s for the horror fans. It’s an asymmetric multiplayer game where you can either try to escape a house of horrors as one of the victims, or play as one of the delightfully terrifying members of the Slaughter family. It’s gritty, grim, and exactly what you’d expect from a game based on the 1974 cult classic.

Rounding out the lineup is Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (PS4). It’s an anime-flavoured RPG where you’re trying to clear your name in the digital world. You’ll raise and battle Digimon, solve mysteries, and dive into a surprisingly emotional story along the way. There’s a huge roster of monsters to collect, and if you like your JRPGs with a side of cyberpunk vibes, it’s definitely worth a look.
