Destiny 2: Heresy Act III brings back a classic strike and a load of new loot

Guardians, it’s time to gear up once again: Act III of Destiny 2: Heresy has officially landed, and there’s plenty to dive into.

This latest act ramps up the pressure with new story developments, fresh activities, and returning fan-favourites. Most exciting for long-time fans is the return of the Sunless Cell strike from the original Destiny. It’s back with updated mechanics and that nostalgic atmosphere, ready to test your fireteam all over again.

You’ll also find new encounters to tackle in the Nether and Court of Blades, plus fresh Artifact mods to experiment with as you build your perfect loadout. And for those who’ve been wielding the Exotic Barrow-Dyad submachine gun, two new catalysts and the fifth intrinsic perk are now up for grabs. Ready to really push that weapon to its limits? This is your moment.

Fancy something physical to go with your virtual arsenal? Complete the Derealize mission and earn the Chosen Path Triumph before May 6 to unlock access to Bungie Rewards’ Exotic Armory Collection: Barrow-Dyad. Because yes, who doesn’t want a real-life replica of their favourite in-game gear?

And that’s not all. Destiny 2’s Moments of Triumph event is still ongoing, celebrating Guardian achievements from across the year. There’s exclusive loot and a snazzy MMXXIV Title up for grabs if you’re willing to put the work in.

Looking ahead, the Rite of the Nine event is just around the corner, promising new dungeon challenges and remixed dungeon weapons sporting an eerie Nine-inspired design. And if PvP is more your thing? Keep an eye out for Heavy Metal, a brand new vehicle-based mode where Guardians can hop into Brigs and Drakes and blast each other to pieces. Yes, please.

So whether you’re hunting Triumphs, grinding out new gear, or just in it for the lore, Act III has something for everyone. The Hive Pantheon isn’t going to take itself down: time to jump back into the fray.
