Assassin’s Creed Shadows update adds PS5 Pro features and handy shortcuts
Assassin’s Creed Shadows has only been out a couple of weeks, but Ubisoft is already giving players more reasons to keep exploring its vast, samurai-era world.
The latest patch – title update 1.0.2 – is live now across all platforms, and it brings a handful of welcome quality-of-life improvements along with new features that’ll make your journey through feudal Japan a little smoother.
If you’re on PS5 Pro, there’s some especially good news: the update introduces support for PSSR upscaling. You’ll need to turn it on in the settings, but once enabled, you can expect better image quality. And if you’re using the Balanced graphics mode, PSSR will also activate Raytraced Specular, helping the game look even more impressive without taking a hit to performance.
A more universal improvement comes in the form of a shortcut to the Investigation Board. Now, by simply holding the Options button, players can quickly jump straight to it. A simple press still takes you to the inventory, but this long-press shortcut should help streamline your clue-hunting and objective-tracking.
The update also adds the ability to sell or dismantle multiple items at once (finally!) and resets for Mastery Nodes, letting you tweak your builds without committing to a fixed path.
There are a bunch of other tweaks too, like better auto-follow and speed for your horse, some rebalancing, and a slew of bug fixes. Ubisoft has published the full patch notes over on its website, so if you’re curious about the nitty-gritty details, it’s worth checking out.
If you’re still deep into your playthrough with Yasuke and Naoe, this patch might just make the rest of your journey a bit smoother.
